The proposed UNESCO-Russia, Mendeleev International Prize in the basic sciences ,aims to recognizing and reward of the major development achievements, the diffusion and international cooperation in the field of basic sciences which had an important transformative impacts at the regional or global level.

This prize consists a monetary reward of $ 250 000 for each the two recipients, they will also receive a gold medal and a diploma .
